Watching Talent Show

Photobucket

I enjoy watching talent shows like American idol, X-factor, Britain got talent, etc.
(Especially Britain got talent)

It's just nice watching ordinary people shine on stage,
because it makes me feel like I just witnessed a miracle?

All that spell-binding performances, standing ovation, suspense from judges, supportive parents backstage, their usual "This is the moment" statement, millions of viewer altogether makes it feel so important that you just can't miss it.

Which brings me to the real point of this post.

Yes, Simon Cowell (the judge and producer of all these talent show) is truly brilliant.
A smart, very smart businessman who came up with these popular TV talent show that made him a millionaire.

I'm sure you all know who he is.

If you know who he is, it means he succeeded in his life lol.
How often do a producer of the show get so famous?

Whether you notice or not, it's a clever move how he always engage himself with the show.
Making him the 'label'/face of the talent show.

Being nasty, straight forward, all that jazz.
Well, basically being an odd-ball among all the judges.

The talents are real, but entertainment business is just...complex.
You don't see all the talented people (who could sing and dance) get a record label.
Or see them having a chance to spread their love like bieber fever.
(but they do get valuable experience and attention so that's good enough haha)

& even if you get a record label, the war is not over.
The battle just begun.

Okay this post is officially gonna sound like my mom sharing those "ren shen dao li" (lesson in life).
I'm gonna stop before I start vomiting all the theories and stuff I'm thinking about,
but hey at least i post a pic or two :)

p.s// I wanted to post about how I spend my day watching X-factor and Britain got talent on Youtube today (besides getting mad while editing the poster because Pshop takes soooo long to render). Yeah, so i'm not that bo liao or free to write a post dedicated to Simon Cowell for this topic. It's just my thoughts and feelings about it.

An eye for an eye, literally.

I've absolutely no idea why the lids of my eyes are so dried up that it started peeling?
It sounds gross, and yes it's very gross.

At first I thought it's some eye shit thingy when I woke up UNTIL
I wash my face and realize the skin of my eye lid peel/become red.

*Quick flash back on what I did that could possibly cause this*
NOTHING.
I don't apply eye cream or eye shadow so it can't be the case of sensitiveness.

Smack on some concealer and eye shadow to cover up and off I go.

Btw, I went out with moo for some shopping today.
Finally. Shopping. After so long!

Just when I'm in shopping queen mood, Moo (who's beside me all the time) is on money-appreciation-day mood.
Maisie: "no..don't buy", "really? you sure you want to buy?", "Bugis confirm cheaper than this", "this is expensive", "save money belle", "confirm won't regret?", "*gives that look* hmmm".

& I have to thank her for painting my nail today.
She's such a patient and nice girl.
Even when I just have to sit down and wait for my nails to be done, I can't take it.
I don't feel comfortable sitting still for long, I need to walk around.

Shopping was rather fruitful.
I got a bag, top, necklace, and two make-up stuff.

And yeah,

AN EYE FOR AN EYE, LITERALLY...

Random thoughts

I know that recently there have been a lot of bad updates from my blog.
(or shall I say no updates at all)
& obviously a drop in readers.

I personally don't blog to be popular in the net or 'get noticed',
but it seems that people are interested in my personal life.

& it has always been that way.
So I'm not sad when my blog reader stats drop but rather...
I kinda lose the momentum to update everyday.

Keeping the habit when part of it is gone is difficult.

I'm not saying "hey, pls show some support & read my blog every day"
Rather, I want to say THANK YOU all who are still reading this space.

My guess is YY and Moo being the regular readers of my blog.
So this is a vid...

BY READERS, FOR READERS

(cheezzyy tag line but i like it)

Haha, I actually found this random vid in my com.
It's taken in my room during one of the random hang out.
& as expected, this blog post is by random too.

Good night! :>

Blog Treats

Hi people,

Most of the time I get questions about how I edit my photos and today I decide to share some cool tricks I've learned so far.

I use Adobe Photoshop CS4 to edit my photos!
(If i'm feeling lazy, I use picasa)

You can download a free trial of photoshop or just buy a pirated disc from Malaysia lol.
You can also get a free download of Picasa from google :)

I always trial and error when it comes to editing photos.
Feel free to spam all the effects in photoshop and explore different possibilities!
It's always fun to re-create something new :)

Color tone for photos = extremely important
Here's an example;

Want to achieve this effect?

Go to:

http://www.blog.spoongraphics.co.uk/tutorials/how-to-give-your-photos-a-cool-retro-analog-effect

Do note that...

Everyone will achieve different effect of the photos they edit, because we each have different aesthetic view point of the color tone :>

If you're editing an album of pictures, it's important to maintain the consistency of color tone.

Have fun! :)

On the other side

Pretty bored with holidays...
Not as productive as I thought it would be.

Now I'm waiting impatiently to retrieve the make-up kit I bought online!
Can't wait to attempt on high-fashion photography, hehe.

Some random shoot I did with Amanda that turned out well.
(have yet finish editing all the pictures. I'm sucha lazy bum)

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

I don't update my blog as frequent as before because I want to blog with pictures.
it doesn't help when all my pictures are in high quality...
and I always get the exceed bandwidth problem that pisses me off!

Anyway, all my pictures are up on Facebook.

I guess this is pretty much a reflection post lol

I felt different from last year.

I'm no longer obsessed with what I want a year back...
Because I know that a year later, all this doesn't matter anymore.

Your surrounding changes, and so does people...unknowingly

Haiti was there last year but now it's probably a living hell now.
I fill up Swimming and Shopping under hobbies last year, but now Photography and Videography is my life.

I blog a story of my day last year but now I only do summary and highlights.
I use to take photo of myself in high-angle but I now I take people in high-fashion (well not yet, but very soon).

Mcspicy use to be my favorite but now I'm on anti-mac campaign.
I lost some friends and gained new ones.
Some real and some superficial.

My walls are white but now it's pink.
I want to earn more money.
I want to get out of Singapore.

I start to plan for my future though it's still on Gaussian blur mode..
I get emotional about my past.

As much as I hate to admit, I've changed a lot too.
Appearance aside, my thinking took off a 360 degree change.

Whether people around me realize or not, I'm striving hard in what I'm pursuing.
And I feel happy in what I'm doing.
Especially when I accomplished something I never thought I can last year.
I'll not hesitate to take whatever opportunity I have.

I get really offended when people speak without thinking.
Who judge me on their first impression (which according to many, a bimbo) and treat me like one.
They don't deserve my respect.
In fact, I despise this people who look down on my ability.

One day, I'll prove it all to you.

As for now, I just have one serious habit I need to change.
I need to be punctual in all events, because that's what professionals do.
